Google says a lot about you, monitor your brand
Your brand is important .What you do on the web is just as important or even more important than how you are perceived offline. Google yourself, see what is being said about your name or your business. Whether you are applying for a job or you want to know what is being said about your business; people are using Google to find information about you. What is being found on Google tells a person who you are, what you are about, and what you do. Our presence is no longer only physical, it is online also. “Googled” is now an official word in the dictionary. Get the hint? We are out to please Google.
What is a personal brand? A personal brand is an authentic depiction of who you are, what skills you have developed, and what value you can bring to your work. Your brand helps you to get noticed, to stand out. Having a good personal brand is a good determination on whether someone will want to have a business relationship with you.

Perception Is Reality
In the online world, perception is reality. How you portray yourself online can be seen as a reality.Being Authentic is very important. In my blog I talk about being true to yourself in 2012. Your personal brand must always represent an unapologetic, authentic you. People can see an unauthentic person a mile away. Being authentic is the first step to managing you brand. Be aware of what people perceive you to be, because even though it may not be a reality for you at times, it is a reality for them all the time.

I’ve never been one to post inappropriate content, but it is still something that shocked me when I found out how easy it is to lose something just because of what you have on your personal page. Always make sure you’re appropriate is definitely a key lesson.
